Skincare for humid climate

As humidity increases in atmosphere unwanted skin oiliness,  pimples, acne, frazzled hair and excessive sweating are some of the things that we need to face on a day to day life. Thus, it calls for some extra care of your skin and body.

The people with oily skin are the one’s who need to take special care of their skin as the excessive water content in the air is not a companion of their skin at all. More humidity means more water content in the air and when our skin comes in contact with it, it feels like they need to overcompensate on the oil which leads to excessive production of sebum which further leads to acne and pimples.

To avoid this following points must be taken care of.

1. Wash your face

To avoid an excessive production of oil you must wash your face two to three times a day with cold water.

You must keep blotting paper to soak the excess oil from your face when you feel like it. You must keep wet wipes handy to wipe off excess oil when outdoors.

This skincare for humid weather would prevent your skin from breaking out.

2. Use face myst

The people with oily skin must carry a face myst with them and keep using it for hydrating your skin and refreshing the skin. Doing this would give your skin a signal that there is no need for production of excessive oil as the skin is already hydrated.

Applying the face myst would give you a refreshing effect and hence relaxing your skin.

The face mists are easily available online and also on normal stores. But it is easy to make one at home. You just need to mix some aloe Vera gel with rose water and refrigerate it, then it is ready to be used.  Another way to make a face mist is to cut some slices of cucumber and extract the pulp out of it and mix with some water or rose water and refrigerate it.

3. Use cleansers

When you feel like your skin is producing excessive oil or sebum, use cleansers which contain glycolic acid, lactic acid and salicylic acid in it. These ingredients are the best friend for people with oily skin and acne-prone skin.

These cleansers should be used twice a day as these lift up all the dirt and excess oil from your skin leaving you skin super clean.

Some of these cleansers are Clean and Clear- Oil Clear face wash and Neutrogena Deep Clean face wash.

You must use the cleansers containing the above-mentioned ingredients for taking care of your skin during humid weather.

4. Exfoliate

If you want to deep cleanse your pores and remove all the dirt from your skin to avoid breakouts and other skin related problems, exfoliation is the key.

For best results take some coin-size amount in your palm and then massage it in circular motions on your face specially around the nose area. This removes all the blackheads and hence deeply cleaning the pores. Follow the exfoliation process two to three times a week.

5. Toner

Applying a toner after applying cleanser and exfoliator becomes a must during the humid weather to close the pores and avoid the dirt and dust and excess oil from accumulating in the skin.

You can make a DIY toner just by using rosewater or cucumber pulp. Both the ingredients give a refreshing effect to the skin and serving the purpose of a toner.

Toner is a must in skincare during the humid climate.

6. Moisturizer

Moisturising your face is must during any weather conditions and for any skin type. It becomes even more important to moisturize your face during the humid climate as the skin then gets a signal not to produce excessive sebum to compensate for the dryness caused by the humid climate. If you don’t moisturize your face, your skin will feel a need to overcompensate on oil to keep the skin moisturized.

The people with oily skin need to opt for moisturizers which are water-based or gel-based and not cream-based. The cream-based moisturizers further make your skin even more oily and hence leading to breakouts.
